I watched Inglorious Basterds earlier.
When they said, “Merci,” the subtitles said “Merci” half the time and “thank you” half the time. They did the same thing with “Oui.” I mean, thank you for assuming an American audience isn’t so stupid we don’t know what those words mean, but… I just found it a little odd.
